Share God's Love

While the video content and immersive environments are appropriate for guests of all ages, school age guests will benefit most from the experience. Guides are trained facilitators with experience leading tours and engaging in age-appropriate discussions.

Poverty Encounter environments are highly stimulating and realistic in nature. Adults and children with autism, anxiety, sensory processing disorder, claustrophobia or any other special needs should speak directly with a Poverty Encounter team member in advance of their tour to ensure appropriate accommodations can be made. Teachers or parents are invited to walk the Poverty Encounter rooms prior to the tour if there are any concerns.

Yes, advanced registration is required. Please visit the Get Tickets page for more information.

We recommend guests plan 2 hours for the entire Poverty Encounter experience. The 2 hour experience includes a guided exhibit tour and a hands-on service activity.

Yes. If you are a group leader and would like to book a visit for more than 45 people, please fill out the Contact Form. Note that each tour capacity is 15 individuals, so larger groups will be divided into tours of this size. All groups receive the same experience, just at rotating times.

Poverty Encounter does not have dining facilities available onsite. However, we can recommend plenty of great restaurants nearby. Please ask us about our staff picks!

If your family or group wants to serve families living in poverty through a short term mission trip, begin your search by contacting your local church. If you are not connected to a local church or want to look into other opportunities, we suggest you start your research with Short Term Missions.

The goal of Poverty Encounter is to ignite the hearts of our guests to love and serve the poor, according to God’s word and the example of Christ.
